Rosa Halpern is the owner, designer and life force behind By The Namesake. Her background in fashion is extensive, learning to sew and pattern at age 10 and having her first internship at age 16.
By The Namesake started organically when a friend asked Rosa to make a leather jacket after tirelessly searching for a jacket that fit her perfectly and had every feature she was looking for. Her designs are inspired and named after women (and men) who were game changers and noise makers. The people who make a difference and whose legacies continue to inspire. Due to the custom nature of our product, no two designs are alike – just like our customers, each of whom are unique!
