TARA, the modular fine jewelry label known for its architectural designs, announces its first collaboration with Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Yamini Nayar for Holiday 2018. Exploring the tension between what the viewer sees and what they experience, the TARA x Yamini Nayar collection includes seven-pieces of multi-use fine jewelry along with a series of large-scale sculptures. To celebrate the launch of their partnership, TARA and Yamini Nayar will host an immersive art and retail installation in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood from December 13th through December 16th. The TARA x Yamini Nayar collection will be available worldwide at IShopTARA.com from December 3rd.

Using Yamini Nayar’s 2013 mixed medium work Akhet as inspiration, TARA’s founder Annette Lasala Spillane worked with Nayar to create a collection that plays on the tension of mutability and dynamism. Exemplifying this exploration of subversive complexity is the Yamini earrings, the signature piece in the seven-style TARA x Yamini Nayar capsule collection. Using salt & pepper diamonds and biwa pearls, the set can be transformed from earrings into a pendant when styled with the Isabel box link chain. Similarly, styles like the Yamini Necklace can be taken apart and worn on two layers either around the neck, ankles, ears or as a ring.

As part of this study in perspective, Yamini Nayar will unveil a series of sculptures alongside the capsule collection of fine jewelry. The wooden figures will be revealed during a temporary exhibition and retail installation in New York City. The TARA x Yamini Nayar pop-up shop will open to the public from December 13th – December 16th.
