Sugarlift: DRAW

Parasol Projects @ 2 Rivington Street
DRAW @ 2 RIVINGTON
Aug 25, 2018, 5-8pm

Picture this: You’re commuting to work, playing Candy Crush or scrolling through your Reddit feed.
Among New York City’s subway commuters, you spot her: an artist. Sketchbook in hand, she lays ink
to the page, capturing quick gestural poses, doodling from memory, or surreptitiously sketching the face
of one of her fellow riders.

Like the rest of us, artists commute on the subway. Unlike us, they find inspiration in doldrums. On
August 25th, Sugarlift invites you into the artist’s subway-riding world with DRAW, a metro sketching
meetup culminating in a one-night only gallery show of drawings created that day for sale, for the
price of a 30-day Metrocard.

Tickets to the gallery event, which include lite bites and all-you-can-drink beer, are $10 and 100% of
proceeds will go to Young New Yorkers’ Art Not Jail program, an arts-based alternative to
incarceration for teenagers.

Featured artists: Guno Park, Dina Brodsky, Anna Park, Daniel Maidman, Nicolas V. Sanchez, Robert
Szot, Dorian Vallejo, Melanie Vote, and more!

Join us on the subway!
