Alexandra Houx Grounds has become known for her hyper-realistic, large-scale paintings which depict the artist’s view of female empowerment. Grounds has exhibited nationally in galleries and exhibitions such as Art Angels Gallery and HG Contemporary. She is currently an artist-in- residence at the Silver Arts Program in the World Trade Center. Her work has been featured in publications such as Whitehot Magazine, Creative Boom, and more.
Delusions of the Wild, the solo exhibition by contemporary artist Alexandra Houx Grounds, introduces new and never-before-seen paintings of personal transformation and warped realities. A visual reflection of Grounds’ career, the exhibition will include all original works from the past year. With a distinctive hyperrealism, Grounds’ large-scale paintings depict female empowerment as something powerfully untamed in a collection that is as exacting as it is dreamlike. Delusions of the Wild pushes into new spaces where figurative realism reaches beyond the very limits of reality.
