Many entrepreneurs have started their own business after they found it difficult to find items that met their needs. The design-savvy, half-french, New York native, Annabelle Moehlmann is no exception: “Many of my favorite elements in design were not available in New York.” This led Annabelle to create Land of Belle, a brand that gathers a selection of home décor elements crafted by traditional artisans around the world.

The store feels like “early summer, charming, and romantic”, as it showcases Land of Belle’s intended brand message: “where old world beauty and contemporary lifestyle intersect.” The overall feel is quite paradoxical, like stepping into an antique store only to learn that everything was just made yesterday. A wooden box appears to come from a historical period before you learn it was made specifically for Land of Belle in India using wood and bone inlay as most of what’s presented is custom made. Light blue Murano made glassware by Laguna B, fringe linen from Hungary and Turkish porcelain vases, all hand-made by artisans following Moehlmann’s touch.

A brand in early development, Moehlmann is preparing for her e-commerce launch so having a pop-up experience is essential to help create a direct connection between the digital universe and consumers. “New York City is my home, it is a special opportunity to show my concepts to the people in my life.” Says Moehlmann who successfully opened a pre-holiday pop-up in Amagansett last November. Do not miss the opportunity to discover her universe and visit her seasonal store!

Land of Belle will be popping up at our 171 Elizabeth St. location from June 13th to  June 24th.
